PAROCHIAL COMMITTEE
Originally known as the Parochial Committee, comprising the clergy and elected parishioners, this body was the policy-making body of the church.
Headed by the Vicar/Pastor-in-Charge, it was the highest decision making organ of the church. Over time, it became known as the Parish Church Council.
Later it inaugurated subcommittees for the effective operation of the church’s functions. The first two of these were the Finance Committee and the General Purposes and Welfare Committee. Other committees were formed subsequently.
Members of the Parochial Committee were described as far sighted and were considered to have a positive effect on the church.
